1. Road Transport: Roads play an important role in Sri Lanka's transport infrastructure. The road network covers a large part of the country, connecting big cities, small towns and rural areas. The road network includes national roads, provincial roads and local roads. Buses, taxis, motorcycles and private vehicles are commonly used for road transport.

2. Rail Transport: Sri Lanka has a rail network operated by Sri Lanka Railways. It mainly connects major cities and towns and provides convenient transportation options for passengers and cargo. The rail network consists of different train classes, including express trains, intercity trains and local trains.


3. Air Transport: Sri Lanka has several domestic and international airports. Bandaranaike International Airport (in Katunayake, near Colombo) is the main gateway for international air travel. Mattala Rajapaksa International Airport (in Hambantota) serves as the secondary international airport. Domestic airports include Ratmalana Airport (near Colombo) and many others in different parts of the country.

4. Water Transport: Due to Sri Lanka's coastal location, water transport plays a key role in domestic and international trade. 6. Tuk-Tuks and Taxis: Tuk-tuks, popularly known as tricycles or three-wheelers, are a popular form of short-distance transport in Sri Lanka. They are widely used and offer a convenient and inexpensive way to get around towns and villages. Taxis and ride-sharing services such as Uber and PickMe are also available, especially in urban areas.
